The visits cater for the needs of the school and we are very versatile in delivery. We do this in a number of ways by raising awareness of What is Bullying; Types of Bullying; Effects of Bullying; How others can help to stop Bullying; and What to do if you are being bullied. By promoting a whole school approach, we show the importance of every member of the school receiving the same advice and support, and where possible we include parents/guardians. We encourage a simple but effective way of reporting bullying helping to ensure Pupils can then be supported effectively. This Programme will be completed over a number of sessions arranged in advance with the school  To raise awareness within schools and the wider community of the issue of bullying in its various forms and of its impact on young people and adults Anti-Bullying Peer Mentor Training  BullyBusters has developed a Peer Mentor training plan, with the aim of enabling young people and children to recognize and appropriately act upon issues of bullying within their peer group. The training includes: A comprehensive training plan for the peer mentors Assistance in establishing Peer Mentors in schools. Empowering pupils to make positive changes in their communities. Certificates of achievement awarded to participating pupils. On going support provided by specially trained staff in anti bullying for pupils and staff. Mediation for victims of on-going or hard to resolve bullying. This Programme will be completed over a number of sessions depending on size of the school and numbers participating.  To provide training to young people, school staff. Targeted Anti- Bullying presentations & Special events  BullyBusters can facilitate specific targeted presentation in a number of Anti Bullying subjects such as: Technological/ Cyber bullying, internet safety Homophobic Gender Racial Disability We can tailor our training to the needs of the school. During events and Anti Bullying Awareness weeks BullyBusters can support young people to facilitate their own anti bullying sessions or performing arts.  To raise awareness within schools and the wider community of the issue of bullying in its various forms and of its impact on young people and adults Mediation  BullyBusters offers a mediation service for victims of bullying that has not been successfully resolved by schools or youth projects. This can be achieved by: Informal chat with the victim of bullying about who is affecting them and how they have been feeling about it emotionally Friends and good role models in the school are asked to become involved in supporting the victim on a day to day basis The perpetrator of the bullying is asked their side of the story and different techniques are suggested to stop them from bullying. All involved in the mediation process will then agree and compile a contract stating their role in the group. BullyBusters are dedicated to resolving the bullying issues affecting the individual involved and will remain in contact with them to ensure the contract is working and bullying has not continued To provide independent advice and support to those affected by bullying including young people and carers. We can support a child or young person by listening to their problems without passing judgment and give them options on how they can help themselves. We advise all callers to keep a log of the 4Ws: Who, What, Where and When. This can be handed to a teacher and given in as evidence to prove you are being bullied, and it is not a one off incident. If they do not want to talk to their parents about the situation we can call the school direct (with their permission) and speak to them on the childs behalf to make them aware of what is happening. Parents can be guided through up to date school procedures and given support for anything from writing letters to getting their child professional help such as counseling or assistance with specific We give advice on how their childs self esteem can be improved and suggest preventative steps that can be taken to minimize any long term effects of bullying.
