Hi all those who have contributed moving stories and comments of positivity regarding their childrens horrific bullying experiences. I have been reading though parents comments and some of the children's comments regarding this issue and finding it really concerning that there are so many children in Merseyside feeling in this way. No child should feel they have no where to turn or even suicidal as I have read so far. I have heard that Merseyside will soon be getting a school called James Bulger house - part of the Red Balloon Learner centres which will specilise in helping children who have suffered from bullying, the house rehabilitates and restores confidence to young people whilst still providiing an education in a protected environment. I feel all too often children who suffer bullying are seen as being fine once the bullying its self is over! But this is far from the case. Schools such as the Red Balloon ones, provide this support to help an emotionally scarred youngster return to a fully functional and normal life. This is also vital. Recently the Education authority in Liverpool stated that they were making progress in bullying and therefore would not sign up to a school like Red Balloon and this I find horrific, the stories I have read on this website contradict this entirely and I urge them to reconsider.
If anyone would like to know more about Red Balloon please go onto their website www.redballoonlearner.co.uk, this is where I learnt about the charity and show your support for a school like this to be set up!
