St. Helens

CIIr Alma Atherton, Executive Member for Children's Services: "We have very successful partnership arrangements in St Helens and the Healthy Schools team and the Children's Fund Keeping Children Safe Project have been instrumental in providing a wide range of anti-bullying strategies to schools.

"The buddy scheme is a particularly good initiative which aims to crack down on bullying.

Susan Richardson, Director of Education: "We are pleased to have been associated with this important scheme which provided the free Bully Busters helpline. Across St Helens we actively promote anti-bullying initiatives in our schools.

"Under the Council's Anti-Bullying Strategy, schools are provided with specific guidance which gives detailed advice on policy development, implementation and review, the latest national and local statistics, tiered levels of the support available and access to a wide variety of whole school interventions."
