Hi,
Just found this web site while looking for some info/help for my daughter.
My daughter is 8 and I've just recently found out she is being bullied and I don't know how best to deal with it.
So far I haven't been able to do anything as I've felt so angry and I don't belive that will help things. All info I've found online relates to bullying at school but my daughter is being bullied when she goes out to play (local playpark on street were we live). It hasn't stopped her going out (yet) and I don't want to stop her going out to play but I'm worried she is going to get really hurt.. It started with one kid but now it seems she is the target of all the local kids. Nothing too serious has happend yet thankfully....mostly name calling and to my knowledge she has been physically hurt once (this was when I found out).
Sorry I know this is a long post....I guess I'm just hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Should I speak to the kids involved? Or their parents? If my child is hurt is it worth reporting to the police (even if its kids her own age doing the hitting)?

Thanks

Hi Totale,

Thanks for your message. Sorry to hear about your daughter's bullying, I am sure it is a stressful time for both your daughter and you. I would advise speaking to the local Police Community Support Officers, whose job is to protect the community. If they are made aware then they can monitor the area on a more regular basis. I would not suggest speaking directly to the children as this may cause further problems. If you wish to discuss this matter further one to one you can email us directly on BBusters@localsolutions.org.uk, or alternatively you can call our free confidential helpline on 08001696928.

Hope this helps,

Bully Busters Helpline Officer
