Can I still get help?

I’m now 54 and I still suffer from the effects of being bulled as a young chilled right up to when I was about 18. It has really ruined my life. So much so that I am terrified of people. It takes me a very long time to get used to someone. Even people I have known for years I find difficult to talk to. I feel the bullies have stolen my life. The older I get the harder it seems for me to cope. I just wondered if there was anywhere I could get help from?
Thanks
Andy

I'm still at secondary school but here's my advice. If you have someone which you feel comfortable talking to (a close friend) then speak to them about it. Another option is counciling. I have had counciling because I used to get bullied when I was a bit younger. My situaion was the same as yours but over a shorter period of time. Councelling helped me get over it.

Good luck
